This describes the CDROM contents for the paper
"A Signal-Processing Framework for Inverse Rendering" by
Ramamoorthi and Hanrahan, SIGGRAPH 2001.
Essentially all of this material and more is also available on our website at
http://graphics.stanford.edu/papers/invrend/
The files in the CDROM are organized as follows:
invrend.pdf : PDF version of final siggraph paper
The directories below have high-resolution images corresponding to the
three experimental subjects shown in the paper: spheres, the cat
sculpture and the wooden doll.
spheres/ : The spheres (figure 12 in the paper)
The files are organized for each material and each condition
X_Y.tif stands for material X, condition Y
X = teflon, delrin, bronze, paint, sandblast
Y = orig [original photo], known [estimated BRDF known lighting],
unknown [estimated BRDF unknown lighting], light [lighting]
real_light.gif and filtered_light.gif give real and
filtered versions of lighting from a mirror sphere
(bottom of figure 12 in paper)
cat/ : Figures 1 and 13 in the paper
The files are again organized as X_Y.tif where
X = fig1 (figure 1), origview (figure 13,top),
newview (figure 13, bottom)
Y = orig (photo), known (known lighting), unknown
The small amount of banding-like artifacts in the
synthetic images are due to rippling of geometry in
the range scans.
doll/ : Figure 15 in the paper.
Files are organized as X_Y.tif where
X = input (original input sequence), newlight (novel lighting)
Y = orig (photo), rendered
